Safety Profile
TRILEPTAL has been available in the United States since February 2000, and has been prescribed for over 1,000,000 patients. In addition, it has been in use in other countries since 1990.
Patients on other antiseizure medications may need to undergo regular blood test to check for liver enzyme abnormalities. With TRILEPTAL this type of routine monitoring is not necessary. If you are at risk of hyponatremia your doctor may want to monitor your sodium blood levels.
